Q: I found better deals for some items at various building supply companies.
You say shop for as much as you can under one roof.
I don't get it.
If the main way to save money building a new home is to shop well, you're wrong aren't you?
A: My reasons for buying as much of your building materials as possible from one building supplier haven't changed much over the years.
It has become easier and easier to do over the years as home building centers have grown and become very competitive.
Your time is worth something, and shopping item by item takes a lot of time.
There are literally thousands of items that make up a new home or are needed for a major remodeling job that you will be responsible for selecting and buying.
These items range from lumber, windows, interior doors, exterior doors, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, kitchen cabinets, countertops, etc.
Besides saving my time, I found that I get better prices, better service, including better delivery service, buying as much as I can from one building supplier.
